Actually, I could see it working like guns before rifling: Sure it's really shitty unless you're right there, but it's still a bullet. I'm sure there's a cutscene that proves me wrong, though.

She does make a bitchin' long shot while falling through the air, so yea. And it does have rifling, the way the gun is made to look, the rectangular portion of weapon is what has the barrel, it doesn't even separate so as far as I can tell it is all one piece as well. All things point to the weapon being less shitty than Squall's gunblade which sucked when the Polish came up with it, and sucks even more in FF VIII since it is admitted to do nothing other than EXPLODE when shot.
